December 2, Chairman Xi Jiping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video conference to witness the launching ceremony of China-Russia Natural Gas Pipine(Eastern Line). HBIS has delivered 3847tons of its type D1422×57mmX80 piping part steel to the project, which is the thickest, widest and most difficult piping steel domestically made and applied in engineering projects.
Last month, CPPM President and Vice President visited HBIS and on behalf of CMMC and China-Russian Natural Gas Pipline(East) project team, they thanked the great support of HBIS in the construction of the project.
China-Russian Natural Gas Pipine(East) is the largest joint venture of the two countries and has significent effects to the energy safety of the country. HBIS materials were mainly used in the Heihe-Changling Section, which covers a special environment of cold temperate continental monsoon climate with a possible lowest temperature of -40 degrees Celsius. The project requires the piping steel in the project to face the extreme environment.
To cope with the low temperature, HBIS develops its X80 piping steel to lower the low temperature impact test to -45 degrees from the previous -30 degrees products. Its impace toughness reaches 135J from the old product’s 70J, 95J higher than the requirement in the national standard. First time in the country. HBIS products also become the first in the world steel industry that serve with 1422mm diameter, 57mm thickness pipine and under the -40 degrees environment. It is the longest pipine project using X80 series.
To implement the contract, HBIS Wusteel organized a joint project team with the client to study the special requirements and material specifications. They optimized and tested the procedures to resolved the low temperatures unstable tenacity problems. All test readings show that the material is going beyond the client requirements and HBIS is able to make deliveries in large volume.
